Design & process developments for point-of-care test systems
Context
Most commercial lateral flow assays use a single detection area. Structuring techniques adaptable for various types of lateral flow papers are developed for multiplex sensing.
The collaborative project DiaFev furthermore aims at the integration of anti-body free point-of care tests in case of fever in order to reduce the overuse of antibiotics.
Solution
Multiplex paper-based microfluidic systems
- Design and fabrication of paper-based microfluidic circuits
- Paper structuring techniques
- Microfluidic flow studies
Demonstrator developments towards point-of-care applications
- Mastering structuring techniques of lateral flow papers
- Device integration for multiplex sensing
Advantages
- Structuring techniques for multiplex sensor developments
The developed competences in structuring techniques are transferable to the development of industrial pilot lines.
